Sinatra & Company Real Estate was founded in 2010 and is headquartered in Buffalo, NY. As a vertically integrated real estate investment, development and management firm, our company is focused on value-add multifamily acquisitions and development. With approximately 5,800 apartments and nearly 1-million commercial square feet owned and managed in the Western New York, Upstate New York, Dallas, South Bend, and Chicagoland regions, Sinatra & Company Real Estate is one of the largest private owner-operators of apartments and commercial properties in WNY.

Our Team

Nick Sinatra

President & Founder

In 2009, Nick Sinatra founded the real estate firm, Sinatra & Company Real Estate. Its intention was to source and invest in value-add real estate opportunities in the Western New York region. As a native of Kenmore, New York, Nick understood the local opportunities. Initial investments were in multifamily assets, but quickly grew to retail, office and mixed-use classes. Value-add projects broadened into development projects within the original geographic footprint, but also into California, downstate New York, and later Illinois. Nick remains the hands on manager of the company’s now $350 million in assets. A graduate of Yale University, Nick also received his MBA in Real Estate Finance at the Wharton School of Business. Prior to founding Sinatra & Company Real Estate, Nick worked in political affairs for Governor George Pataki and the Bush Administration.

Mark has played an integral role as a partner and leader since Sinatra’s inception in 2010. Working along Nick Sinatra’s side, Mark has led the development of both the residential and commercial management departments from the firm’s inception. Mark is very proud to have started with a only handful of apartments and employees to currently overseeing a staff of over 40 members that manages over 2,500 local units and nearly 1 million sq. ft. of commercial property. In addition to our local WNY properties, Mark also oversees the property management of Nob Hill Apartments in Syracuse that boasts over 700 units and 25 employees. Mark provides oversight to our brokerage department and is a key decision maker in all Buffalo acquisitions and sales. Mark is a 2003 University of Buffalo graduate.

Kenetria, or Shay, as we call her around the office has worked as an administrative assistant for many years and we’re lucky that she eventually settled in here at Sinatra & Company. Shay enjoys working with the Sinatra team because she feels like she’s providing valuable services to our team and also helping tenants solve their issues as she’s often the first one to speak to them on the phone. Shay also enjoys the friendly, family-oriented culture at Sinatra & Company and deep roots in our wonderful city. Always smiling, Shay feels that we are the perfect place for her and we feel that she is the perfect fit for us as well.

Jessica joined Sinatra & Company Real Estate to oversee the operations and leasing of its commercial property. She recently returned to the area from New York City, where who worked in this field. In her free time, Jessica can often be found on a jogging trail.

Matt Buckley

Director of Information Technology & Systems

Matt joined Sinatra and Company in February of 2015. His role as Director of IT & Systems requires him to be involved in many corners of the operation of the business from management reporting to the renovation of apartments. Matt’s vast experience in real estate and also accounting are essential to his role and multiple responsibilities at Sinatra & Company. Matt graduated from the University of Buffalo with a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Management Information Systems. In his free time Matt enjoys spending time with traveling his wife, Meagan, and golfing. Matt is a diehard Buffalo Bills fan and has been a season ticket holder for 14 years.

Chief Investment Officer

Mr. Labita has 17 years of investment management and finance industry experience. Mr. Labita serves as Chief Investment Officer of SCRE, leading its acquisition, strategic finance and investor relations efforts, and assisting in asset management and implementation. Prior to joining SCRE, Mr. Labita was a real estate private equity deal lead at Prospect Capital, a publicly traded investment firm with approximately $7.2 billion under management and capital provider to SCRE. Joe was also the Portfolio Manager of a yield oriented liquid fund at Prospect focused on REIT equities and had significant involvement in its fund-raising efforts. Prior to his time a Prospect, Mr. Labita worked as a buy-side analyst at Garrison Investment Group, a special opportunity hedge fund focused on middle-market leveraged finance and distressed debt investments, and as a Vice President of TD Bank Group. Mr. Labita began his career as an Investment Banking Analyst at JPMorgan in its Credit Origination division. Mr. Labita holds a BA in Economics from Lafayette College.
